他表示，目前我国A股市场大约有1.2亿到1.3亿个账户，有3000万个闲置账户，剩下9000万。其中基金账户有3000万到4000万个，如果把基金去掉的话，就有5000万个股票账户。4000万个基金账户管理在59家基金管理公司手中，实际上基金并不多。剩下的基金包括深圳A股、上海A股、B股。那么假定没有上海B股，也就是大概2000多万人群，始终还是一小部分人的游戏，渗透得还远远不够。
但巴曙松也表示，中国现在所处的阶段，正处于大家都在讲的人口红利，50年代、60年代、70年代出生的人群正在岗工作。而人口学家告诉我们说，大概在2017、2018年中国会出现人口的拐点，会进入老年社会，投资者现在就需要为自己的未来配置资产。在自己的收入里面工资下降的同时，我们需要通过资产型的收入进行弥补，这就产生了非常大的资产的需求。如果国内的资产不够，就应该给居民更多的选择，在全球范围内配置自己的资产。
具体到如何理财，巴曙松也给出了一定的建议，他表示，理财并不是要追求最高的收益，理财是根据每个人的风险收益偏好、家庭的结构、整个人生的不同的生命周期来进行相应地匹配和安排，只有最适合的理财方案，并没有最好的理财方案。目前的市场已经开始考验投资者的眼光，市场中仍有值得投资的品种，如果不具备这种眼光，投资者可以考虑交给专人打理，例如买银行的理财产品。
